Description

Dugong Beach is a prime destination on the eastern coast of Bintan Island, forming part of the Trikora Beach area. It's renowned for its clean and soft white sand, clear blue waters, and calm waves—making it ideal for swimming, playing in the sand, and even snorkeling. Its direct westward orientation towards the South China Sea makes it a favorite among domestic and international tourists, especially from Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

At the beach's entrance stands a dugong statue, serving as a symbol and landmark for the area. Dugongs are protected marine mammals that were once commonly found in these waters. The beach maintains a very clean and well-kept atmosphere, suitable for family tourism, including children who can safely play by the shore.

Dugong Beach is equipped with various facilities such as huts, gazebos, food and beverage stalls, and public restrooms. Visitors can relax, enjoy fresh young coconuts, or rest in the huts, which can also be used for prayer. The beach also supports fishing activities, and boat rentals are available for those who wish to try deep-sea fishing.

What makes Dugong Beach even more vibrant is the interaction with the local community. Malang Rapat Village, where the beach is located, is an active fishing village. Along the shoreline, visitors can observe fishermen's activities such as catching anchovies, drying their catch, or simply greeting the friendly locals.

Access to Dugong Beach is very easy as it's located on the national highway. From Tanjungpinang, it's about an hour's drive via a smooth paved road, offering charming sea views throughout the journey. There's no official entrance fee, so visitors can directly enjoy the area without any obligation to stay overnight.

You can make this destination part of a private trip, especially if you are interested in authentic natural attractions and local culture.
